How do I link to a file or folder?

Sync allows you to create secure, shareable links to any of your files or folders. Links allow your friends, family, clients, or coworkers to view specific files or folders without a Sync account.

Share links using the desktop

1. Install the Sync desktop application on your computer (if you haven’t already).
2. Right-click on the file or folder to open its contextual menu and select Create a Link or Create an Enhanced Privacy Link. What’s this?

3. A pop up window will indicate that the link has been copied to your clipboard and you can immediately paste it anywhere.

4. The icon on the file will then change to a share icon so you may easily identify linked files.

Pro Tip

When a file is too large to attach to an email paste a secure link in the email instead.
