What happens if Sync receives a subpoena demanding the data stored on the server?

Sync is Canadian owned and incorporated, and as such Sync is only obliged to respond to valid Canadian law enforcement requests.

When providing information in response to a court order, we will verify it’s validity and disclose only the information that is legally required. Sync will make reasonable efforts, within the bounds of the law, to notify you should your personal information be subject to disclosure.

If data is requested, we would only be able to provide the encrypted data stored on our servers, useless without the encryption keys (which we do not have access to). Also, we recommend you ensure email-based password reset is disabled, to mitigate access to your data through a password reset.
