Faster folder uploads, faster deletes, and better PDF previews

Today, we’re rolling out three web panel improvements designed to make everyday work in Sync faster.

Folder uploads are now up to 10x faster. Deleting large batches of files is faster too, with better performance as file counts grow. Lastly, PDF previews load quicker and include a new toolbar that makes large documents easier to navigate.

These updates focus on the workflows you use most, especially when working with lots of files.

Faster folder uploads

Uploading folders in the web panel is a lot quicker, including folders with many files and nested subfolders.

So whether you’re uploading project files, archived folders, or large sets of content, getting them into Sync takes far less time. 

Faster deletes at scale

We’ve also improved delete performance in the web panel, especially for larger amounts of data. That means less waiting when removing old files, reorganizing content, or clearing space.

Performance also scales better as the number of files increases, so larger delete jobs are much more responsive.

Faster PDF previews, with easier navigation

PDF previews in the web panel are faster, and they’re easier to use.

The new preview toolbar makes it simpler to navigate large PDFs, with features like:

• In-document search
• Table of contents navigation
• Easier page-to-page movement
• Document properties
• Adjustable scrolling optionstest

We’ve also increased the maximum PDF preview size from 40 MB to 100 MB and expanded access to our Free and Basic plan customers. 

You’ll also have faster speeds when opening up PDF files and improved preview performance, opening about 10x faster than before. And as always, PDF previews remain end-to-end encrypted.
